After learning about the first female African American astronaut, Dr. Mae Jemison, pre-kindergartners made a name rocket with the letters of their name and a handprint rocket. Teacher Hilda Meza read “Mae Among the Stars” as part of a science lesson and Black History Month.
Pre-kindergarten students in Claudia Myers' dual language class practice measuring and comparing the capacity of containers. Students identified which had greater capacity and how many cups each container filled.
